“The Beachmere Project is an outstanding example of what can be achieved when a project director and all of the team are dedicated and committed to delivering sustainability in every aspect.” John Moynihan
A message from John Moynihan, Director of Ecolateral
“Sovereign Homes engaged Ecolateral’s services in the early stages of The Beachmere Project to provide recommendations on a broad number of opportunities that were available to deliver positive environmental results for the renovation and extension of a beach shack on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, to a sustainable home without conceding on lifestyle or luxury.
Based on Ecolateral’s commercial and environmental experience, sustainability is primarily about balancing the practical decisions with the economic benefits whilst focusing on delivering a true sustainable end product.
Ecolateral are meticulous when it comes to the acknowledgement of environmental performance and believe that if something is worth doing it is worth doing properly. Sovereign Homes raised the bar challenging us to go far beyond our recommendations for inclusions – an unfamiliar circumstance for Ecolateral to be faced with. This certainly set the trend for the remainder of our engagement.
When a contemporary beach home of this quality is designed and constructed it is generally with an eye to luxury at all costs. This project demonstrates that luxuries and market value can be retained whilst exploiting every opportunity to deliver an equally high level of environmental performance.
This home is a shining example of how the builder considered the entire process of design, demolition, construction and occupation.
Ecolateral are proud to partner with Sovereign Homes and to be associated with The Beachmere Project.”
